About the Role

Summary: The Installation Project Manager/Region Service Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing all aspects of installation projects for the MMIC Mobile Fleet of trailers and VERDA Water Quality systems. Communicating the expectations and requirements for a successful installation. Ensuring the pre-installation planning and deployment of MMIC Mobile trailers and VERDA Water Quality Systems services exceed the MMIC/VERDA customer satisfaction metrics. At the core of these responsibilities is establishing a rapport with the customer once a project is assigned and maintaining that relationship throughout the product life cycle.  Responsibilities will include obtaining a deep knowledge of the specifications of the equipment being installed.

The Installation Project Manager/Region Service Manager will have direct and indirect reporting responsibilities and is responsible for leading service delivery operations within a defined geographic territory, ensuring exceptional customer satisfaction, technician performance, and operational efficiency. The Installation Project Manager/Region Service Manager oversees field service teams supporting installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, IQ/OQ/PQ validation, and remote monitoring of water purification and related medical and facility support equipment. This role drives operational excellence, revenue growth, and customer loyalty in alignment with company service standards and compliance requirements.

Qualifications: Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills and being able to interface with all levels within the customers’ organization, including general contractors and subcontractors and project/equipment planners. The Installation Project Manager/Region Service Manager will have previous experience with healthcare equipment and or physical plant utilities equipment installations. The Installation Project Manager/Region Service Manager position requires strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Must be able to work independently, have the ability to multitask, be self-directed and self-motivated.

  1. Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience.
  2. Minimum of 5 years of Installation Project Management in a healthcare equipment environment is desirable.
  3. Proficiency in the use and application of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) MS Project
  4. An ability to understand the technical aspects of company products
  5. An ability to read and understand engineering drawings that specify the MMIC/VERDA equipment and its integration into the customer facility
  6. Experience with leading and managing MMIC/VERDA employees while working in cross functional teams.
  7. Experience with Project Management and project management tools is required.
  8. Project Management Professional (PMP) certificate is a plus
  9. Experience with managing subcontractors in the trades and solving customer issues.
  10. 2+ years of people leadership experience (Supervisor, Team Lead, or Manager).
  11. Strong understanding of service operations, troubleshooting, technical documentation, and customer service protocols.
  12. Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  13. Ability to travel within the region (30–60%). Travel by air or ground may be necessary

Preferred

  1. Experience with RO/DI water systems, pure water distribution loops, remote monitoring platforms, or critical utilities.
  2. Familiarity with AAMI ST108 requirements, water quality testing, validation protocols (IQ/OQ/PQ), or regulated environments (GMP/ISO13485).
  3. Strong business acumen related to P&L, service revenue, KPIs, and contract management.
  4. Must understand facility utilities such as Electrical Systems, Utility Water, Critical Water, Steam, HVAC Fire and Security Systems
  5. Highly organized, task oriented, self-motivated and energetic.
  6. Ability to comprehend contract language as it relates to contractor terms and conditions and scope of work.

Duties & Responsibilities

Installation Project Management

  1. Lead end-to-end planning, scheduling, and execution of installation projects for RO/DI water systems, medical device equipment, or related technical systems.
  2. Conduct site readiness assessments (utilities, mechanical/electrical requirements, compliance standards, risk mitigation).
  3. Coordinate internal teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure materials, equipment, and documentation arrive on time.
  4. Develop and maintain project timelines, Gantt charts, and resource plans.
  5. Ensure installation is performed to engineering specifications and all applicable regulatory standards, OEM requirements, and customer SOP expectations.
  6. Oversee IQ/OQ execution and support PQ/validation documentation as required.
  7. Manage project budgets, cost tracking, change orders, and scope control.
  8. Facilitate project kickoff and closeout meetings, delivering turnover packages and as-built documentation
  9. Create and and present project status reports for minternal stakeholders and customers
  10. Manage sub contractor work including statements of work, purchase requisitions, through invoicing and certification of completed projects.

Region Service Management

  1. Provide leadership, direction, and daily oversight for a team of Field Service Technicians in the assigned region.
  2. Monitor scheduling, dispatching, and productivity metrics to ensure optimal coverage and on-time service delivery.
  3. Conduct ride-alongs, coaching, and performance evaluations; build technical competency across installation and service tasks.
  4. Develop technician training plans (safety, product training, calibration, water quality sampling, troubleshooting, etc.).
  5. Manage regional spare-parts inventory, tools, test equipment calibration, and service vehicle asset controls.
  6. Implement service processes, SOPs, and quality standards to ensure consistent field execution.
  7. Evaluate service KPIs (response time, PM completion, first-time fix, customer satisfaction, revenue per tech, etc.).

Customer & Stakeholder Management

  1. Act as the primary point of contact for regional customers, providing escalation support for technical issues, complaints, and schedule conflicts.
  2. Ensure customer needs, compliance requirements, and environmental conditions are captured during installation and service planning.
  3. Build strong relationships with staff, facilities, sterile processing managers, OEM reps, and distributors and sub-contractors.
  4. Conduct post-installation walkthroughs, operator training, and service plan onboarding.
  5. Communicate proactively with customers on project status, delays, corrective actions, and next steps.

Quality, Compliance & Safety Oversight

  1. Ensure installations and service activities comply with AAMI ST108, OEM mandates, OSHA requirements, and internal quality procedures.
  2. Oversee proper documentation: work orders, field reports, IQ/OQ/PQ files, calibration certificates, water quality logs, CAPA/complaints.
  3. Support investigations into equipment failures, water quality deviations, resin tank issues, or system non-conformities.
  4. Participate in internal quality audits, service process reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  5. Enforce safety protocols, job hazard assessments, and technician PPE requirements.
  6. Must be able to lift 75 lbs.

Physical Environment & Work Conditions

The physical and environmental requirements below represent the essential functions of the position and can be performed with or without reasonable accommodation:

  • The regular schedule typically follows an 8-hour workday, Monday through Friday, with general availability expected between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM Eastern. Scheduling flexibility will be required to meet customer needs.
  • Candidates living outside of Vermont will work remotely and are expected to maintain a professional home office environment that supports video conferencing, focused work, and the secure handling of customer information. MMIC provides all employees with a company-issued computer and mobile phone for business use.
  • Field work requires regular travel to customer sites, a minimum of 50% of the time.
  • The role may involve moving safely within mechanical rooms, utility areas, and healthcare environments.
  • The role may require walking, standing, climbing stairs or ladders, bending, kneeling, and reaching to access equipment and perform sampling activities.
  • The role may require lifting, carrying, or moving sampling equipment or materials (typically up to 75lbs)
  • Office-based work may involve extended periods of sitting, computer use, and detailed data review.
  • Work may involve exposure to water systems, treatment equipment, laboratory sample kits, and  outdoor environmental conditions.
