Water Quality Services Supervisor

Reports To: Director of Operations

Job Description:  The Water Quality Services Supervisors shall use their managerial skills and knowledge of safety and lab procedures to ensure that third party water testing laboratories and VERDA® service technicians operate smoothly, following regulatory standards, meeting customer water quality requirements.

The priorities of this position are to meet VERDA® water quality objectives on time, within budget, and at the highest level of quality.

Qualifications:  Strong organizational, communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills to interface with all levels within the company as well as subcontractors and customers.  The position requires the employee to possess strong organizational skills, the ability to self-motivate and manage multiple priorities, and be an integral member of a cross functional team.

  • Bachelor’s Degree of Science in biology, chemistry, biochemistry, or health and science fields.
  • A minimum of 10 years’ work experience.
  • Experience with leading projects and working with cross functional team members.
  • Experience in prioritizing, executing, and managing project tasks.
  • Experience with healthcare water purification system and its unique water quality requirements is desirable.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Power Point) and MS Project required.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

SHORT-TERM:

  • Coordinate water testing and disinfection services across mmic™’s Mobile Sterile processing fleet, creating Purchase Requisitions as necessary.
  • Identify testing laboratories and disinfecting service providers near deployment sites who can meet VERDA® water quality parameters measurement and turnaround time requirements.
  • Collate, analyze, and create summary reports for water testing. Identify follow-up action items when appropriate and manage their resolutions.
  • If requested, attend customer meetings (virtual or in person, as necessary) to review monthly water quality reports.

MEDIUM TERM:

  • Review water quality assurance plan with customers during proposal stage and/or after awarding of contract.
  • Responsible of the continual development of Mmic water quality summary report to meet AAMI TIR34 and ST108 and equipment manufacturer IFU.
  • Responsible for the continual development of Mmic Water Quality Assurance Plan to meet AAMI TIR34 and ST108 and equipment manufacturer IFU.
  • Determining best testing equipment, kits, etc. for Mmic to perform water sampling and testing in-house and or on-site per AAMI TIR34 and ST108 guidelines and standards. Priority to accurate pH reading in low conductivity water, low range water hardness, and chlorides.
  • Training and education of Mmic service team and extended team members (e.g. subcontractors) on proper techniques for water sampling and transporting.
  • Travel to deployment sites, as needed, to train and educate Mmic and extended team on water testing.
  • Perform audits on water testing laboratories on protocols, procedures, and equipment certifications.

LONG TERM:

  • Work with potential vendors in development of real-time testing for bacteria and endotoxin presence.
  • Research and DOE to determine the combination of potential water quality indicators for indirectly determining elevated bacteria and endotoxin levels.
  • Research and DOE design best practices to minimizing bacteria and endotoxin levels in system, especially at point-of-use faucets.
  • Provide sales support as needed for mmic™ Medical Systems (temporary facilities) and VERDA® (water treatment and monitoring systems).
  • Representation for mmic™ (alternate or main) on the AAMI and other regulatory bodies committees for healthcare and medical devices water quality.

Administrative Assistant – Water Quality Management Services

Reports To: Director of Operations

Job Description:  The Water Quality Services Coordinator shall use their administrative skills third party to schedule and coordinate water testing laboratories, water purification equipment service contractors, and VERDA® service technicians operate efficiently to meet customer water quality requirements.  Additional duties will include inventory control activities and assisting with operational process improvement initiatives.

The priorities of this position are to meet mmic™ water quality objectives on time, within budget, and at the highest level of quality.

 Qualifications:  Strong organizational, communication, task management, and interpersonal skills to interface with all levels within the company as well as subcontractors and customers.  The position requires the employee to possess strong administrative skills, the ability to self-motivate and multi-task, and be an integral member of a cross functional team.

  • A minimum of 3 years of work history that demonstrates competency with coordinating, scheduling, multi-tasking, across internal and external entities is required.
  • A basic understanding and competency with mathematics.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills are required.
  • Competency with creating and updating spreadsheets is required.
  • High School Diploma is required, additional education or certifications are desirable.
  • Experience with leading projects and working with cross functional team members.
  • Experience in prioritizing, executing, and managing project tasks.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Power Point).
  • Experience with healthcare water purification systems and their unique water quality requirements is desirable.
  • Experience with trades contracting, laboratory operations, and water purification is desirable.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

IMMEDIATE:

  • Schedule water testing and disinfection services across mmic™’s mobile fleet, and VERDA Water Quality Systems division, creating Purchase Requisitions as necessary.
  • Maintain inventory control system to support mmic™ and VERDA© service and manufacturing activities.

MEDIUM TERM:

  • Identify testing laboratories and disinfecting service providers near deployment sites who can meet VERDA© water quality parameters measurements and turn-around-time requirements.
  • Review water quality assurance plan with sales team during proposal stage and/or after awarding of contract.

Mechanical Engineer

Reports To: Director of Operations

Qualifications:  Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills to interface with all levels within the company as well as subcontractors and consultants.  Experience in executing or managing design tasks and components of new product development projects/programs.  The position requires the employee to possess strong mechanical design skills, the ability to self-motivate and manage multiple priorities, and be an integral member of a cross functional team.

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent from an accredited institution is required.
  • 2 -5 years of related experience desirable.
  • Proficiency in use of 3D CAD systems and the production of engineering drawings. Experience with the use of PTC Creo is desirable.
  • Proficiency in the use of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point) is required.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • 1.Responsible for executing and managing detail design tasks (design and specification of required components/raw materials) and releasing fabrication prints to the manufacturing floor or suppliers.
  • 2.Follow MMIC’s procedures for new product development, design and design changes.
  • 3.Work directly with production personnel to fabricate issued designs and make changes for functionality and performance as necessary.
  • 4.Provide technical support and product technical troubleshooting to other MMIC Departments as needed.
  • 5. Work with other team members to achieve strategic and quality goals set by the Company.
  • 6.Provide periodic updates of assigned tasks and components to be reviewed at Engineering meetings and cross functional design reviews.
  • 7. Work with cross functional teams to create Statements of Work and serve as the Point of Contact for subcontractors on assigned areas of responsibility or tasks.
  • 8. Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

 

   Sr. Mechanical Engineer

 

Reports To: Director of Operations

 

Job Description:  The Sr. Mechanical Engineer shall use engineering principles, leadership, and management skills to guide the Engineering group in its mission to provide efficient solutions to continuous improvement objectives, new product development, and support of the Company’s customer service mission.  The priorities of this position are to meet design objectives on time, within budget, and at the highest level of quality.

 

Qualifications:  Strong organizational, communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills to interface with all levels within the company as well as subcontractors and consultants.  Experience in executing or managing design tasks and components of new product development projects/programs.  The position requires the employee to possess strong mechanical design skills, the ability to self-motivate and manage multiple priorities, and be an integral member of a cross functional team.

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent discipline.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ work experience.
  • Experience with leading projects and managing team members of cross functional teams.
  • Experience in prioritizing, executing, and managing design/project tasks
  • Strong mechanical design skills, with a working knowledge of HVAC, hydraulic, plumbing, and electrical systems and controls required.
  • Experience with healthcare water purification system, medical gas systems, and facilities building and construction requirements desirable.
  • 2D drafting and 3D modeling skills, with knowledge of advance assembly concepts required, proficiency with PTC Creo desirable.
  • Experience with finite element analysis desirable
  • Working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Power Point) and MS Project required.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain an active leadership role in the engineering department, through team collaboration, coaching, project management, and technical consulting.
  • Responsible for the management and coordination of assigned projects and design tasks as directed by senior management.
  • Responsible for working with team members to develop product and system requirements and specification.
  • Responsible for executing detailed designs (design and specification of required components/raw materials) and releasing fabrication/layout prints to the manufacturing floor or suppliers.
  • Responsible for taking decision making role in engineered design selection
  • Follow company procedures for new product development, design and design change per company ISO standards.
  • Responsible for the management of the company’s engineering design and data management software and use of best practices.
  • Support and facilitate the company’s continuous improvement program.
  • Ability to create, interpret, and present design reviews outlining requirements, concepts, pro/con assessments, analysis, ROM (rough order of magnitude) costing, and design risks.
  • Support manufacturing personnel during fabrication of issued designs and make changes for functionality and performance as necessary.
  • Provide site layouts, system and equipment specifications, technical support, and product technical troubleshooting to other company team members as needed.
  • Develop appropriate Statements of Work for vendors and subcontractors regarding engineered solutions.
  • Work with other team members to meet client and company objectives in the development of company’s platforms and/or products.
  • Provide technical support and product technical troubleshooting

Service Technician

Reports to: Director of Service

Summary: The Service Technician will report to the Director of Service to support the preventative maintenance program and the commissioning and decommissioning of mmic™ products. The Service Technician will be kept abreast of all the units, service required, and movement of units, spare parts and catalogs, sales support needs as required. They will be required to travel on either a scheduled or an emergency basis to support the customers’ or the sales team during trade shows and conferences to include:

  • Equipment set up and breakdown
  • Problem troubleshooting
  • Emergency repair
  • Permanent repair
  • Preventive maintenance to a checklist.
  • Evaluate, test, repair, and install equipment related to HVAC, electric, plumbing, hydraulic and med gas systems.
  • Write detailed and accurate service logs and reports stating the nature of the job and what was done. In addition, write daily trip reports during all service engagements.
  • Support manufacturing build for commercial and military product and engineering on said product including prototype product build and fit.
  • Give input using the Problem Corrective and Preventative Reporting (PCPR) system to the improvement of the product as it pertains to serviceability, robustness, and cost efficiency during unit design, manufacturing, and deployment.
  • Give support in development of a spares parts catalogue and setting up inventory requirements for such, to help maintain a spare parts and equipment inventory space(s) at the plant and other areas where needed.

 

Qualifications:

  • Electrical, Mechanical, and/or Plumbing experience of at least 10 years. Master License is a plus.
  • 5 + years experience in troubleshooting problems and repairing issues relating to electrical, mechanical and plumbing.

Essential Job Functions

To communicate with and give support to customers, both directly and over the phone/e-mail in the following areas: commissioning and decommissioning, preventative and corrective maintenance, application support, system modifications, and in-service training. Teach Support Technicians how to appropriately do the above tasks.

  • Able to travel to our units, primarily to domestic and North American customers.
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance to units in the field.
  • Adhere to safety standards and company policies.
  • Accurately and in a timely manner complete all paperwork associated with trips
  • Effectively and professionally communicate verbally and in writing to supervisors and customers; job status, progress and/or problems and concerns.
  • Work with fellow employees as a support service in engineering and manufacturing for upgrades, design changes or issues and customer feedback of all products.
  • Manage and work with sub-contractors, engineers, architects, and facility maintenance personnel.
